ISPS
Following the tragic events of 11 September 2001 in the USA, and the realisation that any mode of transport can be affected by terrorist attacks, the International Maritime Organisation IMO supplemented the S O L A S Agreement with the so-called “ISPS Code” in December 2002. It defines global uniform security measures for port facilities and seagoing vessels, to prevent terrorist attacks.
The DCH is a secure port facility under the terms of the ISPS regulations. These regulations require that certain measures must be observed in daily operations.
